Privacy policy
1c8 is billing, stock and khata software for shops, on the web at 1c8.in and in the 1c8 Android app. This page says what we collect, why, where it is kept, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash; nobody, including us, can read it.
- Your shop: its name, phone number, address and business type.
- What you enter to run the shop: products and their photos, bills, purchases, quotations, expenses, stock records, and your customers and suppliers, including the names, mobile numbers, addresses and balances you record for them.
- Sign-in security: for each signed-in device, its name, the browser or app version, its IP address and when it was last used. This lets you see and end your sessions and lets us spot misuse.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools. The app does not use your location, contacts, camera or microphone. It opens your photos only when you choose a picture for a product.
How we use it
- To provide 1c8: to save your records and show them to you and to the staff you add.
- To keep your account secure: sign-in, sessions and lockout after repeated wrong passwords.
- To email you about your account: verifying your email address and resetting your password.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone to market to you.
Who can see it
Your shop's records are seen by the people you add to the shop, as their role allows. To run the service we use trusted hosting and email providers, who store or carry data on our behalf and may not use it for anything else. Your shop's data is stored in India.
We disclose data otherwise only when the law requires it.
Your customers' details
When you record a customer or supplier, you decide what to enter and you are responsible for having their permission. We keep it only to run your shop's records and never contact them.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by email; see how. When you do, your name, email and password are removed at once, and any shop you own is deleted with everything in it. Copies in our backups expire within 7 days.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, the app keeps its sign-in in the phone's secure storage, and sessions can be ended from any device.
Children
1c8 is a tool for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.
